The 2024 United States Conference on HIV/AIDS
Hosted by NMAC, the United States Conference on HIV/AIDS (USCHA) convenes annually to celebrate the HIV community, build capacity for the public health workforce, discuss priority policy and funding issues , and equip attendees with the resources to lead the next phases of HIV advocacy.
2024 USCHA was held September 12-15th, 2024 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Themed around “Southern Joy”, we placed southern leaders and organizations at the forefront of our programming to recognize their critical role in ending the HIV epidemic. With HIV disproportionately affecting the South, the voices, strategies, and leadership from this region took center stage, driving conversations on equity, innovation, and resilience in the movement.
We are deeply grateful to the New Orleans community for hosting us, especially in the midst of a hurricane. Their hospitality and unwavering spirit reminded us of the strength and unity that define this work. Despite the challenges, USCHA remained a space for learning, connection, and action..
From years of hosting this community reunion, we know that USCHA never truly ends; it simply evolves. As we carry the momentum forward to the Biomedical HIV Prevention Summit in the spring of 2025, we continue critical discussions and implementation strategies.
