The Tara Barnes USCHA Scholarship Fund

The Tara Barnes USCHA Scholarship Fund was created in loving memory of Tara Barnes. For 27 years, she grew with NMAC and the HIV movement. While we lost Tara suddenly in November 2025, she remains a part of our organization’s fabric.

The NMAC team developed this scholarship to honor Tara’s commitment to the community and celebrate her crucial role in building the U.S. Conference on HIV/AIDS (USCHA) for almost three decades. The fund will support members of the HIV community to attend the conference.
