Minority Serving Institutions HIV/AIDS Initiative


The Minority Serving Institutions (MSI) HIV/AIDS Demonstration Initiative is sponsored by the Department of Health and Human Services Office of HIV/AIDS Policy (OHAP). MSIs serving a wide range of populations (African American, Latinos, Asian Pacific Islanders and Native American) competed for grants to participate in this demonstration project, with seven sites chosen for the initiative. The program is designed to stimulate innovative and sustainable HIV prevention programs on MSI campuses. NMAC provides training and technical assistance support to grant recipients in the following areas:

•    Peer Education
•    Program Implementation
•    Program Sustainability
•    HIV 101
•    Needs Assessment    
•    Social Media
•    Program Evaluation

The National Minority AIDS Council (NMAC), a 501(c)3 organization, develops leadership in communities of color to end the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
