November 2012 Request for Proposal Pack

Below you will find an updated Request for Proposals (RFP) funding announcement in which your organization may be interested. The goal of this RFP is to select qualified institutions and community-based organizations to serve as implementation site subcontractors to Abt Associates Inc. to conduct one-time HIV testing at small to large sized testing events attended by MSM.

The Men’s Testing Initiative (MTI), funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, is a national HIV testing program which seeks to identify MSM with undiagnosed HIV infection and link them to medical care. MTI is particularly focused on providing HIV testing to African American and Hispanic men, as this population is less likely to know their HIV status than other racial/ ethnic groups.

To achieve the goals of MTI, Abt Associates partnered with Emory University to develop and implement Testing Events Across America (TEAA). TEAA will provide funding and technical assistance to approximately 10 to 12 United States-based organizations each year over two years. Organizations may choose between two Funding Tracks depending on event size and organizational capacity. Each selected organization will receive awards ranging from $5,000 to $15,000 to conduct streamlined counseling and instant HIV testing at time-limited community, social, or cultural events that attract large numbers of MSM.

Applications are now accepted on a rolling basis. Application submission is preferred at least three months prior to the proposed event.

If you have any questions or concerns about this RFP, please contact MTI@abtassoc.com.
