Kahlib Barton

I was born in a small town called Marshall, Texas on January 5th, 1991. Growing up in such a small town, it was always difficult to be able to express myself fully, so when provided the opportunity, I relocated to the Houston, Texas area where I attended Prairie View A&M University where I majored in Communication with a minor in Theatre.
I have always been passionate about everything that I am. Being a black, gay male, I stayed involved in many activities that helped me groom my passion for activism.
Now I am a resident of Denver, CO where I work as the director of ONE Imagination, a varsity arts team. I use this platform to mentor queer youth about the many issues that effect us, specifically HIV awareness because I am HIV positive. I hope the USCA conference provides me with many more resources to further my activism.
I one day hope to develop my own nonprofit that will provide queer youth with wrap around services.
