USCA Welcome Letter

USCA Welcome Letter

Dear Friends,

The United States Conference on AIDS (USCA), set for September 18-21, 2008, at the Fontainebleau Hotel, in Miami Beach, Florida, is an event that you cannot miss. This is the largest AIDS-related gathering in the United States. Over 3,000 workers representing all fronts of the HIV/AIDS epidemic—from case managers and physicians, to public health workers and advocates, PLWHAs to policymakers—come together to build national support networks, exchange the latest information and learn cutting-edge tools to address the challenges of HIV/AIDS. We hope you will be one of them.

A Call for Abstracts has been issued by the USCA Planning Committee, to solicit proposals from people working in the field of HIV/AIDS interested in convening a seminar, workshop, roundtable or poster presentation at the 2008 USCA. When preparing submissions, please follow all guidelines included in this document, and submit all required materials on or before March 21, 2008, by 5:00 pm (EST), to:
2008 USCA Conference Planning Committee
Attention: Abstract Submissions

The committee will notify everyone accepted as presenters well in advance of the conference dates, and send them information concerning all applicable registration and/or hotel discounts. Please note that the Call for Abstracts also includes general conference information, as well as the 2008 USCA Registration and Scholarship Application forms.

Early Bird Registrations
must be postmarked on or before June 13, 2008. To apply for the limited number of USCA scholarships available, carefully read and complete the application form, and submit all required materials on or before June 6, 2008, by 5:00 pm (EST).

Abstracts, registrations and scholarship applications can be submitted online by visiting the USCA website: www.2008usca.org. Just be sure to retain a paper copy for your records.

The journey toward a world without HIV/AIDS requires the skills, experience and passion that each of us brings to this struggle. As USCA 2008 approaches, I hope we can count on you to join us as we renew our spirit and recommit ourselves to ending the HIV/AIDS epidemic.

Sincerely,

Paul Kawata, Executive Director
National Minority AIDS Council
