Prison Initiative
NMAC's Prison Initiative helped community and
faith-based organizations, correctional facilities and health departments
evaluate, improve and implement effective discharge planning for HIV positive
inmates and former inmates.
The Prison Initiative was initiated nearly ten years ago in response to an
often-overlooked facet of the HIV/AIDS epidemic: the rising rate of
HIV/AIDS in
United States
correctional facilities, assisting service
providers and correctional staff to implement programs and effective
interventions for prisoners and ex-offenders living with HIV/AIDS .
While Prison Initiative trainings are no longer offered, we invite you to download NMAC's numerous Prison Initiative offers numerous publications, which provide comprehensive
programmatic and policy information around HIV/AIDS and correctional facilities
in the United States.
