NIAID Enrolling Volunteers for HIV Research Study
 
NIAID is seeking volunteers to participate in a study evaluating HIV patients who are initiating antiretroviral therapy (ART) to see if they develop conditions that may be related to immune reconstitution syndrome (IRIS). The study is being conducted at the NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, MD.
 
To qualify for the study, volunteer participants must:
  • Be at least 18 year of age
  • Have a diagnosis of HIV-1 infection
  • Have had no previous treatment with combination ART unless previous treatment lasted less than 3 months and ended at least 6 months prior to study participation
  • Screen CD4+ cell count less than or equal to 100 cells/ml
  • Live within 120 miles of NIH

The NIH Clinical Center is easily accessible by Metro. Study volunteers may be compensated for their time and travel.
