Everyone's talking about new media tools and how they
are helping people communicate more efficiently and effectively. But what does
that mean for HIV/AIDS organizations and how they communicate with their
clients?
Find answers to these questions and more during the New Media
Institute! This innovative all-day session is split into three distinct
sections:
Sessions 1 & 2 (Morning):
The day begins with attendees split into two groups -
New and Advanced Users. New Users will learn in-depth about tools such as text messaging, Twitter, podcasts, blogs, social network sites, photo and video sharing sites, and
wikis. Advanced Users will
receive a general overview of new media tools and strategies, and then learn
in-depth about how HIV/AIDS organizations can incorporate - or augment- these
online tools in their current or new communications strategies.
Session 3 (Afternoon): During the
second part of the day, attendees will come together to listen to and ask
questions to a panel of experts who have successfully used new media tools to
deliver HIV/AIDS information to their clients, as well as to participate in a
question and answer session with AIDS.gov. Scheduled panelists currently include:
