Why You Should Join the National Minority AIDS Council
The National Minority AIDS Council (NMAC) was founded in 1987 with the primary mission to address the challenges of HIV/AIDS in communities of color. Since then, NMAC has created the nation’s largest network of faith- and community-based organizations and AIDS-service providers, and has helped support the long-term organizational health of frontline HIV/AIDS service agencies working in ar-eas hardest hit by the epidemic.
NMAC works with its member base through technical assistance trainings; national conferences, printed and electronic publications, and a state-of-the-art website to keep members up to date on the latest news on the HIV/AIDS epidemic and its effects.
NMAC also understands that fighting HIV/AIDS means ending stigma, ensuring everyone has access to quality health care, and educating our young people about sexual responsibility. We work hard to ensure the thousands of community-based organizations in our network have access to a broad range of HIV-related prevention and treatment education, and are prepared to address the challenges of HIV/AIDS in the people they serve.
