Be Sure to Submit Your 2009 USCA Option C Scholarship by May 15!

Based on your input from the 2009 USCA - What's Your Take Survey and the April 8, 2009 Stakeholder Conference Call, USCA has introduced a new scholarship opportunity called "Option C," which will provide: complimentary conference registration, airline travel and 4 nights of hotel accommodations. Please note the following criteria:
  • USCA Option C scholarship applications are only being accepted online.
  • The deadline is Friday, May 15, 2009.
  • Applications not selected for Option C are automatically considered for Option A and B scholarships.
  • Only current dues-paying individual members and employees of member organizations may apply for Option C scholarships.
Note about the Distribution of USCA Scholarship Awards

We also want to provide some clarification around the USCA scholarship award distribution process.

Staff members, directors and volunteers who work for current dues-paying members of the Conference Sponsor, the National Minority AIDS Council (NMAC), or its Program Partners, are invited to apply for USCA A and B scholarships. Individual NMAC members also may submit applications. Applicants also must demonstrate financial need and explain how they intend to employ their experiences at their home organization following USCA.

In addition, USCA scholarships are allotted as follows:
  • At least one scholarship awarded per state;
  • Two scholarships set aside for each of the top cities impacted by HIV infection; and
  • Ten scholarships set aside for a specific target population annually. In 2009, the target population is transgendered individuals.
